Page + Andrew | Rose & Smith's

Page and Cripps have known each other since high school and during our first zoom meeting, we quickly figured out we had mutual friends in Wanganui. They told me the story of how they got together and I got such a lovely, chilled vibe from the both of them. We went through all the vendors that they had booked, I knew on the back of my mind to expect an amazing wedding but what I got to document on the actual day exceeded what I had imagined. These guys have immaculate taste and all the details were to die for! From the dress to the bouquets, the arch down to the cake and champagne glasses. Not only was it a beautiful wedding, it was one full of laughs from start to finish. They surrounded themselves with the best crew of bridesmaids and groomsmen and had such a ball. This was also the first time I have submitted a wedding which got featured on Together Journal.

Rotdany + Ben | Martinborough

Rotdany + Ben got married on their family property in Martinborough surrounded by immediate family and their beautiful dog, Kobe. The day started off overcast with rain forecasted for the whole day but at around midday, the clouds lifted and it turned out to be the most stunning day. Rotdany’s family are Cambodian so there was a lot of traditions incorporated into the ceremony. I watched her mum and aunt roll rice dumplings and fruit bowls to offer to their ancestors. During the ceremony, the couple lit an incense each followed by each guest. After the ceremony, the guests all headed down to the square while we took a few photos around the property. Reception was held at Mesita with the most delicious tapas and cocktails. It was such an honour to document such a lovely intimate ceremony full of tradition.

Laura + Pat | Rose & Smith's

Laura and Pat’s wedding featured 4 live musical acts, 3 dress changes and the most epic party of their lives. These two navigated through several postponements and venue changes all with a smile on their face.

The day started with all the guests being led to the ceremony by a bagpipe which celebrated Pat’s Scottish heritage. After the most beautiful, spiritual ceremony, the guests had canapés on the lawn while listening to an acoustic performance. I snuck Laura and Pat off for some portraits and from there we secretly met up with a Niko Ne Zna - a 9 piece gypsy band in the car park. The band started playing and the guests all looked confused at first only to turn around and see Laura and Pat dancing their way back with the surprise band. Everyone joined in and Laura’s Romanian family took the lead by showing the guests some of their moves. We danced the afternoon away until reception where everyone finally sat down for dinner and speeches. The night didn’t end there. After all the formalities were finished, Shaun Preston was the final performance of the night and when you have Shaun play at your wedding, it’s guaranteed you’ll have an epic night. Laura and Pat planned a wedding the way the wanted, surrounded by amazing friends, great food and a mini music festival and it was one of the most memorable wedding I’ve ever seen.
